A Five Star Championship Show held under the rules of the National Cavy Club and the Bradford Small Livestock Society, with approximately 725 Cavies on exhibition.

There are Nine Breed Sections: English Self, Ticked, Marked, Crested, Satin, Rough Short-Coated, Longhaired, Guide Standard and New / Emerging Breeds.

The Governing Body

The British Cavy Council champions the exhibition and promotion of purebred cavies (guinea pigs). It is not a club or an association with members, rather it comprises representatives from each of the thirteen Specialist Breed Clubs in the United Kingdom, plus a Chair and a Secretary/Treasurer. Its objectives are to adjudicate on the formation and remit of the Specialist Breed Clubs that serve the needs of the various breeds of cavy in the UK, and to determine the breed standards to be applied when judging cavies, ensuring these are clear and logical and that they a difficult but achievable challenge.Here you will find details of how to join if you are interested in entering the show, as well as the Standards for the different breeds.
