National Gerbil Society

The National Gerbil Society, previously known as The National Mongolian Gerbil Society, is a British Society for the promotion of Gerbils and Jirds as pets and exhibition animals. The Society was founded in 1970. Members can exhibit at shows held across the UK competing for trophies and rosettes. Most importantly, our shows are fun and give members an opportunity to meet others who keep and breed gerbils.

National Fancy Rat Society

The National Fancy Rat Society was formed in 1976 by a group of enthusiasts intent on promoting the rat both as a pet and an exhibition animal. Over the years this philsophy has been upheld so that now, as then, we are equally open to breeders, pet owners or people who are a mixture of the two. We maintain an ethose that is open and welcoming to all who love rats and actively encourage its members to discuss their ideas and give advice freely.
